Carbon Steels

Carbon steels form the foundation of industrial applications, offering a combination of good machinability, medium to high strength and competitive cost.

We maintain two main grades in stock — C45 and S355 — in round bars from Ø10 to Ø450 mm. CK60 is also available on order. All materials are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 certificates and ultrasonic testing.

Spotlight · S355

S355 / St52-3

S355J2 (St52-3) is the standard structural steel for shipbuilding, bridges, industrial buildings and components requiring weldability. Grade J2 guarantees impact resistance of 27J at −20°C.

  • Yield strength: ≥ 355 MPa
  • Tensile strength: 470–630 MPa
  • Elongation: ≥ 22%
  • Weldability: Excellent

S355 steel bars
Applications

Typical Applications

Shafts & Pins

C45: drive shafts, pins, bases, bolts, nuts — medium-load machine components.

Structural

S355: bridges, steel buildings, columns, beams, pressure vessels, shipbuilding structures.

Springs & Components

CK60 (on order): springs, blades, friction and high-hardness components.

Shipbuilding

Both main grades are used in shipbuilding and ship repair depending on load requirements.
